1 · Agreement
By using the HomeLogix app or this website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use them. You must be at least 18, or old enough to enter a contract where you live.
2 · What HomeLogix is
An information service and an introduction service. We identify household equipment, produce a likely diagnosis from retrieved manufacturer documentation and repair references, provide repair procedures where a repair is reasonable for a homeowner, maintain a maintenance schedule, and pass service requests to independent repair companies.
3 · What HomeLogix is not
We are not a contractor. We are not licensed to perform repair work, we do not employ technicians, and we do not perform, supervise, warrant or guarantee any work done by anyone we introduce you to.
Repair companies are independent businesses. Your agreement for the work is with them, not with us. They set their own prices, do their own work, and carry their own insurance. We check that a company holds current general liability insurance, and a current state licence in the trades that require one, before listing them — but a check at the time of listing is not a guarantee of the quality of the work, and it is not a warranty. Disputes about workmanship, damage, scheduling or price are between you and that company. We will help where we can and we want to hear about it, because a company that generates complaints stops receiving our introductions.
4 · Safety, and the limits of a repair guide
Appliance and home repair involves electricity, gas, pressurised refrigerant, water, sharp edges and heavy objects. Any of them can injure or kill you, burn your house down, or destroy the machine.
You agree that:
- You will disconnect power, gas and water before working on anything, and verify it is actually off.
- You are responsible for judging whether a repair is within your ability. We cannot see your hands, your tools or your machine.
- Where we classify a job as requiring a professional, you will hire one. The app does not provide procedures for those jobs and will not do so on request. This includes sealed refrigerant systems, gas valves and burner assemblies, breaker panels and service entrances, and structural work. This is not a paywall and there is nothing to unlock — the procedure does not exist in the app.
- You will comply with local codes and permit requirements. Some work is illegal to do yourself regardless of ability, and licensing rules vary by state and county.
- Repairing an appliance yourself may void its manufacturer warranty. Check before you start.
Every diagnosis shows how confident we are and what it was based on. A diagnosis is a considered opinion drawn from documentation, not a physical inspection, and the correct response to a low-confidence diagnosis is to treat it as a starting point rather than a conclusion.
5 · Accuracy
Guides are generated from retrieved source documents and checked against them, and each shows its sources and confidence tier. We work hard at this. It will still sometimes be wrong: documentation contains errors, models vary by production run, and your machine may have been modified or previously repaired.
Content is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. If something we told you is wrong, please tell us — the outcome report in the app is the fastest route, and guides that fail are reviewed.
6 · Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the accuracy of what you enter — in particular the service address you give a technician. You may delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. We may suspend an account that abuses the service, submits fraudulent bookings, or attempts to interfere with the service's operation or security.
7 · Payments
- Diagnosis is free and we intend to keep it that way.
- Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID, renew automatically, and can be cancelled any time in your Apple account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy, not by us.
- An advertisement unlocks a procedure for a limited period. Nothing is charged.
- Technician work is paid to the technician. We do not process it, hold it, or refund it. Call-out fees, surcharges and repair costs are that company's, and are quoted before you book.
- After-hours surcharges for evenings, weekends and holidays are shown before you confirm and are paid in full to the technician for working outside normal hours. We take no share of them.
8 · Bookings
A booking request is a request, not a confirmation. It becomes an appointment when a repair company accepts it and you are notified. You may cancel from the app; cancelling close to a confirmed appointment may incur a fee charged by the company, which will have been disclosed to you.
9 · What you may not do
- Resell, scrape, or redistribute our guides or diagnoses.
- Use the service to build a competing dataset or train a model.
- Attempt to bypass the advertisement or subscription gate, or to reach content your account has not unlocked.
- Submit false booking requests or misrepresent who you are.
- Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or attempt to access another user's data. If you find a security problem, please report it to security@homelogix.app. We would much rather hear from you than not.
10 · Your content
Photographs, notes and descriptions you enter remain yours. You grant us a licence to store and process them in order to operate the service. Feedback you send us — including outcome reports and corrections to guides — we may use to improve the service without obligation to you.
11 · Our content
The app, the website, the guides and the underlying software are ours and are protected by copyright. Brand names and model numbers belong to their respective manufacturers and appear here to identify equipment. HomeLogix is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by any manufacturer whose products it identifies.
12 · Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, HomeLogix LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for property damage or personal injury arising from a repair you performed, or for the acts, omissions or work of any repair company you engaged through the service.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.
Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
13 · Indemnity
You agree to indemnify HomeLogix LLC against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, or injury or damage resulting from work you performed.
14 · Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and both of us consent to that jurisdiction.
15 · Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
